SHF is an IHCDA-certified Community Housing Development Organization advancing a HOME-ARP affordable rental development, preparing a HOME-assisted homebuyer pipeline, and coordinating high-performance housing designs for Northwest Indiana communities.

IHCDA-Certified CHDO
SHF has been certified by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority as a Community Housing Development Organization, strengthening its capacity to pursue HOME-funded affordable housing activities.
HOME-ARP Affordable Rental Housing
SHF is advancing an energy-efficient affordable rental home in Gary with HOME-ARP funding awarded through Lake County, including architectural, engineering, site, and construction coordination.
HOME Homebuyer Initiative
SHF is organizing a pipeline of newly constructed, energy-efficient homes for future submission under IHCDA’s HOME Homebuyer Program, subject to application approval and program requirements.
Energy-Efficient SIP Housing
SHF is coordinating structural insulated panel designs, HVAC and ERV selections, HERS documentation, and material planning to support efficient, durable, and healthy homes.
Gary Neighborhood Revitalization
SHF is positioning controlled parcels and narrow-lot home designs to support scattered-site housing development and neighborhood renewal in Gary, Indiana.
